Meet Teletype

Connect Teletype by USB, click Connect MIDI and allow MIDI / SysEx access.

Monitor

Play the physical keys and knobs. The drawing follows their ordinary MIDI notes, CC and pitch bend. The monitor sends no MIDI and needs no firmware update.

Knob values appear as messages arrive. Bank switches send no MIDI on their own: the displayed bank is inferred from the last uniquely mapped note. Duplicate note mappings cannot identify a key; knobs sharing a mapping update together.

Configure

Click Set beside each edited mapping or channel. Save stores applied settings; unapplied edits are not saved. Load discards changes and restores saved settings. Reset applies factory defaults; Save to keep them.

Design credits

Teletype’s key and hinge geometry was adapted from Adafruit’s USB MIDI Keyset by the Ruiz Brothers and remodelled by Polaxis. Full credits and original design links.

Teletype is a Polaxis product, not an Adafruit product.
